The painting is experienced through changing distance
What you see online is only the beginning. The real encounter happens in front of the painting. Photographs cannot fully capture my paintings.
My paintings are not meant to be seen from a single distance. As the viewer moves closer, the directed movement of pigment begins to reveal another spatial and visual layer. Moving back, these details reorganize into the larger image. The painting is therefore not a fixed image, but an experience that changes with distance.
From a distance, the image emerges. As the viewer approaches, the physical and optical reality of the pigment begins to reveal itself. Moving back again restores the image, while moving closer reveals another layer of perception. The viewer's movement toward and away from the painting is therefore not incidental - it is part of the work itself.
