A different way of painting. A different way of seeing.

You don’t need to be an art expert to understand what makes my paintings different.

I do not use brushes to apply paint. Instead, I direct the pigment across the canvas through controlled movements, allowing light, reflection and depth to emerge from the material itself.

This approach changes not only how a painting is made, but also how it can be experienced. The closer you look, the more the surface reveals. A photograph can show the image, but it cannot fully convey the experience of standing in front of the original.

My work explores time, perception and the transformation of familiar forms into new visual experiences. Rather than offering a fixed interpretation, each painting invites discovery.

In 2026, my artistic journey reached two important international milestones: the International Prize RENOIR – The Great Interpreter of Art, awarded in Cannes, and the International Prize REMBRANDT, for which I have been selected to receive the distinction in Barcelona.

I am proud to be the first Estonian artist to receive these international distinctions.

Collecting a painting is more than acquiring an image. It is choosing to live with an original work, discover it over time, and become part of its story.

“Timeless Colors” porta l’osservatore a Venezia, ma non dentro una cartolina romantica.

È uno sguardo che sottrae l’abitudine e lascia emergere il colore come esperienza, ritmo e presenza.

About the Artwork

Timeless Colors takes the viewer to Venice, but not into a familiar romantic postcard. In the background, the recognizable Santa Maria della Salute does not function as a classical landmark, but rather as a quiet anchor - timeless, stable, almost dissolving. What happens in the foreground, however, completely disrupts the expected view.

The gondolas, which usually carry the narrative, are here subjected to the idea of “substract its habits”: the form remains, but the function and meaning of the gondola mooring posts are displaced. The colored verticals are no longer merely decorative additions, but aggressively present - interrupting the view, rhythmizing the composition, and drawing the viewer’s gaze so forcefully that the traditional motif recedes almost unnoticed.

This is where the conceptual core of the work resides: that which we usually fail to notice because it is “too familiar” is removed or neutralized. In its place, color steps forward as experience itself. The intensity does not allow the viewer to maintain a comfortable distance - the gaze catches, wanders, searches for meaning, and only then realizes that the city is still there, simply in a different state.

The carnival of colors is a clear reference to February in Venice, but without an explicit costume or mask. It is carnival as a state of perception, not as an event. Like the city itself, this painting is timeless - not nostalgic, but in continuous presence. Timeless Colors does not ask what we see, but what we have become accustomed not to seeing.

Oil paintings are normally shipped stretched, ready to hang.

Optional - Rolled Canvas Shipping
Upon the buyer’s request, the painting can be carefully removed from the stretcher and shipped rolled in a protective tube. This method is often chosen for safe and cost-effective international transport.
If shipped rolled, the artwork will need to be professionally re-stretched on a stretcher of the same dimensions after delivery.

All shipments are carefully packed to ensure the safety of the artwork during transport.
